In a large group of people there seems to be a great interest in the UFO subject. This subject includes the idea of aliens and abductions. Within these three areas there are many subsets of interests, such as animal mutilations, ancient aliens, types of UFO’s, types of aliens, positive and negative contact. For me the one big area of consideration is the difference between evidence and experience. Experiences can true, but although someone may relate an experience in a specific way, often the actual event is very different in many ways. Evidence on the other hand can provide specific undisputed details. Within the UFO world there is both experiences and evidence. However, much of the phenomena today is the telling of experience rather than the reporting of evidence.
I have taken some time to review the story of a number of abductees, and it seems very evident that something has happened to these individuals. If aliens are involved in the horror these people have experienced than something needs to be done. From what I gather these experiences seem to be out of the control of the person involved, which suggests that there may not be a way to prevent or stop these events. In other words, there may not be a way to protect people. However, looming over this issue remains the question of exactly what is being experienced.
How should people respond to this issue? From what I’ve read there seems to be three distinct responses. First, there are extreme believers. People that believe just about anything and everything as long as the story told is interesting. Second there seems to be a group of skeptics, people that are open to the possibility of these events, but raise reasonable questions and prefer examinable evidence. Finally there is a group referred to as debunkers. This group generally deny’s every event in this class of events, regardless of evidence or the corroboration of an experience by a group of witnesses. This subject suggests that we live in a very complex and confusing universe. Astrology on the other hand in many ways suggests order and purpose. I believe there is an orderly structure to the universe, but from what I’ve read of modern physics, the mechanics, if we an even use that word, is much more interesting than what is currently understood.
One of the big topics in this field of interest is the idea of world governments fully disclosing the information they have about this subject. Many people believe that governments have a great deal of evidence and may have alien technology. Technology that the government may be using for military or other purposes. However, it seems this idea is mostly based upon good guess work, not solid evidence. How much, if any, evidence governments actually have is speculative. I find this a very confusing and difficult subject. My overall impression is that there is some truth in these UFO reports. I would imagine that our military has conducted a substantial and ongoing study of this subject. I just can’t imagine that the military would feel kindly about intrusions into our airspace without permission.
